Led by social scientists, EcoGovLab brings together researchers and educators across generation, geography, and discipline. A key goal is to bring social science perspective into interdisciplinary environmental research and education. Kim Fortun and Mike Fortun at the University of California Irvine co-direct EcoGovLab.

EcoGovLab projects include the Asthma Files, Disaster STS Network, Environmental Justice Global Record, and the Reaching for Just Transition seminar series.
Collaborations
EcoGov Lab is affiliated with AirUCI, a solutions-focused, multidisciplinary research unit focused on air pollution, climate change, and sustainability.
