Noémie Janne d’Othée is an undergraduate researcher pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. She is a research assistant in Dr. Hobbs’ Lab and the EcoGov Lab. Her previous research focused on assessing environmental injustices in Coachella Valley, utilizing an analytic case study framework to explore the impacts of fast, slow, and combo disasters.

Her leadership experience includes serving as President of the LOHS Gardening Club (2020–2024), where she revitalized the school garden by renovating planting beds, implementing rain collection and compost systems, and developing a hydroponics lab. As a District Council Member of the Green Chaffey Coalition (2022–2024), Janne met regularly with eco-conscious club leaders to strategize green initiatives and advocate for sustainable practices within the district. She also helped launch the AP Environmental Science class to promote sustainability education at her school.
Her hands-on experience extends to shadowing at the Cucamonga Valley Water District, where she gained insights into collaborative operations and deepened her understanding of public water management.
